Program

The full Copenhagen 2026 program is being finalised. Sessions, speakers and moderators will be published as they are confirmed.

The conference will bring together leading marketing, business development and legal professionals for a full day of thought leadership, practical insights and networking.

The programme will begin with registration, breakfast and networking, followed by welcome remarks from Rachel Kennedy, Chair of the IBA Law Firm Management Committee's Marketing & Business Development Sub-committee, and Anne MacDonald, Chair of the IBA Law Firm Management Committee.

The morning will feature a keynote address from an in-house legal leader, offering valuable client perspectives on the evolving legal market. Delegates will then explore practical applications of AI through a series of "Short cut" sessions examining real-world use cases in marketing and business development, the implementation of AI within law firms, and the opportunities and challenges firms face as they embed AI into their organisations. A practical demonstration of emerging AI tools for marketing and business development professionals will provide attendees with actionable ideas they can take back to their firms, while a live case study on search engine optimisation will showcase how digital marketing strategies can deliver measurable business impact.

Following a networking lunch, the afternoon will focus on collaboration and discussion through an interactive Fishbowl session, giving delegates the opportunity to share experiences, discuss common challenges and exchange ideas with peers on the issues shaping the future of business development in law firms. A fireside chat will explore the themes of pricing and communications as they relate to AI before further practical sessions demonstrate how AI can enhance client engagement and relationship management.

The programme will also feature a General Counsel panel discussing what clients expect from their external advisers and how firms can continue to strengthen client relationships in an AI-enabled world. The day will conclude with a look ahead to the Annual Conference in Singapore followed by closing remarks and a cocktail reception, providing delegates with an opportunity to continue conversations and expand their professional networks in an informal setting.
